Strollers and High Chairs Recalled Due to Strangulation and Fall Hazard.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) in cooperation with iCandy America Inc. of Brooklyn, NY, has issued a voluntary recall of about 830 of its Cherry model strollers. This recall includes the iCandy Cherry stroller only in the colors Fudge and Liquorice. The opening between the bumper bar and seat bottom of the stroller can allow an infant’s body to pass through and become entrapped at the neck, posing a strangulation hazard to young children when a child is not harnessed. The strollers were sold at Buy Buy Baby and other juvenile product stores nationwide and online from October 2009 through December 2013 for about $400.

Other recalls this week include about 1,100 Eat model high chairs from BabyHome U.S.A., Inc. of Chester, NJ. While no incidents or injuries have been reported, the front opening between the tray and seat bottom of the high chair can allow a child’s body to pass through, posing a strangulation hazard. Consumers should stop using the high chairs immediately and contact BabyHome U.S.A. to receive a free crotch restraint repair kit. Meanwhile Bugaboo Americas of El Segundo, CA, has issued a recall of its Cameleon3 as the stroller’s carrying handle can break and detach posing a fall hazard. The company has received 16 reports of carry handles breaking. No injuries have been reported.
