Stride Rite Children’s Group released the results of a commissioned study, “The Effects of Shoe Design on Children Learning to Walk,” last week. The findings, which were collected over a two-year period, showed that children learning to walk stumbled and fell less when barefoot or wearing natural-motion footwear. Results also showed that children should start wearing more sturdy, structured shoes after walking for more than five months.
