Stephen Curry and Under Armour spotlight actress Storm Reid’s efforts to uplift the next generation of girls with International Women’s Day Curry 7 Colorway.
Basketball icon Stephen Curry, Under Armour and actress Storm Reid have teamed for a new sneaker style, made to empower young women. The Curry 7 Bahmazing colorway features a balanced blend of gray and purple on the breathable upper, along with a pop of purple on the heel.
“I am continuing my commitment to providing a platform to empower young women in partnership with my team at Under Armour,” Curry says. “We will deliver the Curry 7 Bamazing colorway for International Women’s Day 2020, which Storm helped to inspire, adding her own design touches to the sockliner with Bamazing branding and words of encouragement such as Btrue and Bbrave.”
The partnership was sparked when Curry discovered Reid’s efforts to empower girls through her Bamazing initiative. Proceeds from the Curry 7 Bamazing colorway will support the annual International Women’s Day scholarship, started in 2019 by Stephen and Ayesha Curry’s Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation and Under Armour. This year will see an increase from one to four $30,000 scholarships, awarded to college-bound women in Oakland, CA. The four winners will be announced at an on-court presentation during halftime of the Golden State Warriors home game on March 7.
Released worldwide tomorrow on UA.com and at UA brand houses and select retailers, the new style will retail for $140. Limited pairs of the colorway are already available today, exclusively at the SC30 product wall within the Chase Center Warriors Shop at Thrive City in San Francisco.
