Christmas may be two months away but it’s never too early to start preparing for the holidays. Just ask Target. The Minneapolis, MN-based chain celebrated its holiday collection this afternoon in New York City with wall to wall of festive goodies. On hand to decorate gingerbread men and dispense sage advice was Soleil Moon Frye, Target’s Mommy Ambassador and founder of MoonFrye, a DIY crafting app, as well as The Little Seed, an eco-friendly and organic line out of Los Angeles. We grabbed a quick chat with the “Punky Brewster” alum and mom of three. —Lyndsay McGregor
Q: What’s it like to be Target’s Mommy Ambassador? A: I’m a mom that spends so many hours at Target with my kids so it’s so great—I love the product and I love shopping there, so it’s completely authentic to who I am. And I love connecting with moms—I love any chance to talk to moms, to hang out with moms, and to connect with families through social media.
Q: What’s your go-to baby shower gift?
A: I obviously love doing handmade stuff so a lot of times I will go and get a big, amazing basket, go to Target and fill it with goodies, have my girls write cards, add something handmade and throw it all together. It’s important to include the absolute must-haves, everything from newborn needs to crafty items. I also have The Little Seed, which is all super yummy, eco-friendly baby gifts so I always throw in some one-pieces and jumpers.
