Sesame Workshop is partnering with Sourcebook to make their readers part of the story with the new app, “Put Me in the Story.” The app allows reader to customize children’s picture books, putting the child front and center in their favorite stories. The first book getting the e-book treatment is Elmo Loves You, which will debut in February for the iPad. “We are always looking for meaningful ways to enhance parent-child engagement in the digital arena, so we are especially excited to partner with Sourcebooks to create our first personalized storybooks on an app platform,” says Jennifer Perry, vice president of worldwide publishing for Sesame Workshop. “‘Put Me in the Story’ increases a child’s engagement and enjoyment by bringing children directly into the story, where they are part of the narrative alongside their favorite Sesame Street characters.”
