Robar, Inc., a twenty-year veteran of the children’s clothing industry, has been merged into children’s fashion house Cutie Pie Baby.

Eli Yedid, president of Cutie Pie Baby, calls it “the perfect merger.” After the merger, Cutie Pie Baby will be the surviving company and will step into the shoes of the $30 million dollar business, driving Robar’s brands Babyworks and Mini Muffin. Many of the key employees as well as Robar’s former owner Peter Dunbar will stay on post-merger. “It’s great on so many levels. We have 16 new factories to add to our roster, as well as new relationships with department stores like Lord & Taylor and Dillards, and hundreds of specialty stores,” he says. Yedid also notes that because of Cutie Pie Baby’s efficient operating structure, he will be able to operate the business at a significant cost savings. “It’s all about quality and value these days, and this deal will enable us continue to make great clothing and pass the savings on to the consumer,” he says. This is the second recent acquisition by Cutie Pie Baby, as the company acquired heritage playwear brand Rugged Bear in April 2011.
