Primitives by Kathy Introduces COO Position

Eric Pritchard has been appointed as the first Chief Operating Officer of Primitives by Kathy, joining Chief Executive Officer Kathy Phillips in leading the gift and home décor company’s growth and market strategy. Holding more than 25 years of senior leadership experience, Pritchard most recently served as the senior vice president of performance excellence at Harland Clarke Holdings, Inc. He has also been a Commissioned Officer for the U.S. Army and received his Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame.

“Eric is a seasoned and proven leader with passion for people and delivering results,” Phillips says. “I have the utmost confidence in Eric’s ability to drive Primitives by Kathy to new heights of service and growth in the industry with his focus on operational excellence.”

Based in Lancaster, PA, Phillips started the company in 1997 with her first hand-crafted candle box and a desire to give customers unique and creative products. Since then, Primitives by Kathy has grown to more than 8,000 products, most recently adding socks, macramé wall hangings and home accents to its inventory.  The company has proudly been named to Central Penn Business Journal’s Fastest Growing Companies 10 years in a row and received the Retailer’s Excellence Award for Vendor of the Year, Inc. 5000 recognition.

Pritchard looks forward to further expanding the thriving business with his experience in development, strategic alignment and transformational leadership.
