The Covid pandemic has taken a new turn in the last few weeks and many countries around the world are adopting new restrictions to try to limit the transmission of the Omicron variant.
The rules are different in Europe than in the United States, so the restrictions that apply to Playtime Paris and Playtime & Kid’s Hub New York are also different.
To ensure everyone’s safety, we will strictly apply the guidelines of each country’s health authorities. As these guidelines are constantly changing, we will send you another email 10 days before the opening of our events to clearly state them.
For Playtime & Kid’s Hub New York, we had a very successful event last summer where everyone remained cautious and followed the safety measures that have been recommended for two years now, as well as the standards set by the CDC. Business was excellent for many of you, the atmosphere was very pleasant and it was a great joy for all to meet again. So we will indeed meet on February 13-15, 2022 for another highly anticipated edition of Playtime & Kid’s Hub New York.
For Playtime Paris, the French government has just announced new capacity limits of 2000 people maximum ant any one time. This does not concern us because, with 7000 visitors over three days (2019 numbers), we never have more than 2000 people present at any one time at the show. Some mega-shows, such as Maison & Objet, are forced to cancel because their size does not allow them to take place, but Playtime Paris remains a human-sized show that is easy to navigate and will therefore be able to open its doors to visitors from January 29 to 31, 2022.
We all thought, or at least hoped, that the pandemic would not last, but after two years of Covid, we have to face the facts: we are living in a situation that is here to stay and postponing the show in a month, or even in two or six months would not change anything. The restrictions are here to stay – they come and go with the seasons – and we are learning to live with them as safely as possible rather than continuing to isolate ourselves for years. This is the choice of life and nothing is more natural!
We will therefore be very happy to welcome you, in Paris and New York, while maintaining the utmost respect for the sanitary rules in place, so that we can all meet safely again, to exchange and combine work and pleasure in a space that is both stimulating and inspiring.
We wish you a very happy holiday season.
Sébastien de Hutten and Chantal Danguillaume.
