The Licensing Event, a new tradeshow for the licensing industry that was scheduled to launch in April 2010 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York, has been cancelled due to economic conditions. Aiming to bring an event back to New York after the move of Advanstar’s Licensing International Expo relocated to Las Vegas this year, show director Linda Cohen of Trade Show Events said the decision to postpone the launch date was not a result of disinterest among licensors and retailers but strictly because of the recession’s current impact on business.

In an e-mail update to industry members, Cohen noted, “When we re-launch the event, rest assured, we have listened and learned from so many of you and look forward to producing the perfect event in New York, at just the right time.”
