After last week’s season two premiere of the “Ultimate Spider-Man” on Disney XD, Marvel Entertainment revealed its product line for the swinging superhero, which consists of more than 200 licensees from Hasbro and Huffy to Street Flyers and LEGO. Items will run the gamut, and will include toys, apparel and home goods. “Marvel’s approach is both long-term and expansive in establishing ‘Ultimate Spider-Man’ as the franchise retail umbrella, creating excitement for 2013 and beyond that will help drive licensed product sales for one of the most recognizable superhero characters in the world,” says Paul Gitter, senior vice president of consumer products at Marvel Entertainment. “‘Ultimate Spider-Man is a consumer products program that celebrates his global pop culture icon status and is fueled by a hit animated series that is translating well with boys young and old.” The majority of items will be launching early this year.
