Need-to-know executive moves.

~ Iconix Brand Group recently promoted several of its executives. Yehuda Shmidman, who joined the company in 2005 and has helped guide its international growth strategy, has been promoted to chief operating officer. Lanie List, who has been heading Iconix’s MG Icon joint venture, is now chief merchandising officer. And Carolyn D’Angelo, who had been supporting the company’s home business operations, was promoted to senior vice president of brand management for the home division. Visit www.iconixbrand.com.

~ Matt Brown has been appointed senior vice president of Scholastic as well as president of the company’s Klutz division, which produces children’s activity products. He will start his new role on Sept. 7. Visit www.scholastic.com.

~ Discovery Communications has appointed Lee Bartlett to executive vice president of global production management, business and legal affairs. He will manage business development and production management strategies; programming acquisitions for the company’s networks and digital platforms; and content deals, intellectual property and licensing. The company has also promoted Bruce Campbell to chief development officer and general counsel. He previously served as Discovery Communications’ president of digital media and corporate development. In his new role, Campbell will continue his responsibilities regarding global business development. He is replacing Joe LaSala, who will exit the company at the end of the year.
