Kids in Distressed Situations (K.I.D.S.) announced that it will donate $500,000 worth of new product to the children of Newark. On Saturday, the organization launched the year-long initiative with Newark Now aiming to empower Newark’s residents with the support they need to transform their neighborhoods. “With poverty rates at an all-time high, children need our help now more than ever before,” Dr. Janice Weinman, president of K.I.D.S, stated. “We are very pleased to support the city of Newark as part of our daily mission to provide children in need with new clothes, books and basic necessities to help build self-esteem and enable an economically-challenged community to grow.”
