JC Penney will debut the Supergirl by Nastia lifestyle brand in July through a three-year exclusive partnership with gymnast Nastia Liukin and Warner Bros. Consumer Products, which owns the property. The line will target girls 8 to 12 with knit dresses, tunics, burnout and foil T-shirts, tie-dye hoodies, pants and leggings as well as dance and fleece activewear.

“We’ve seen a big trend towards activewear in our boys’ department, and this is a natural complement to that—an ‘actionista’ collection with a real style quotient,” Clark McNaught, Penney’s senior vice president and general merchandise manager for children’s apparel told WWD. “We’re not slapping a shield on a T-shirt. We’re trying to make it more relevant to what’s happening in the market.” The line will be manufactured by Jerry Leigh Inc. and will retail between $20 and $38.
