Two veterans of the Hasbro toy company have been selected for induction into the International Licensing Industry Merchandiser’s Hall of Fame: Alan G. Hassenfeld, chairman of the executive committee and former chairman of the board of Hasbro Inc., and the late Stephen Hassenfeld, who was CEO and chairman of the board until 1989.

The Hassenfelds both increased the role of licensing at their company, which has been a toy partner for many entertainment and brand companies (such as Lucasfilm, Marvel, DreamWorks, Paramount and Universal) and has licensed some of its own brands, including G.I. Joe, Milton Bradley, My Little Pony, Parker Brothers, Playskool and Transformers. The Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association (LIMA) is also recognizing the Hassenfelds involvement in charitable and social causes over the years, which includes the founding of The Hasbro Children’s Foundation by Stephen Hassenfeld in 1984.

The induction ceremony is scheduled for June 8 at the second annual LIMA opening night awards party during the Licensing International Expo, which will take place June 8-10 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. Visit www.licensing.org.
