The childrenswear market is one of the most lucrative segments in the global apparel industry and is expected to reach $156.8 billion by 2015, according to a report released by Global Industry Analysts titled “Children’s Wear: A Global Strategic Business Report.” The report also found that childrenswear fared considerably better during the recession than the men’s and women’s wear and that Europe and the United States account for a major share of worldwide sales. The sales are sparked in part by a growing fashion-consciousness among children, due to their increasing exposure to media, rise in international travel and enhanced awareness of their peers.
