The style immediately sold out, but it was just the beginning of big breaks for the brand. Since then, stars like Gwen Stefani and Zoe Saldana have been snapped in Seraphine’s stylish dresses and tops. And now, the company is embarking on its next big retail venture: its first brick-and-mortar store in the U.S., located in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood. The boutique kicked off its grand opening last night with a party for the some of the city’s most fashionable moms and moms-to-be, including Broadway actress and proud new parent Megan Hilty. We chatted with Seraphine Founder and Designer Cecile Reinaud (pictured below) to get the scoop on the new shop, and what to expect from the brand this spring. – Audrey Goodson Kingo

Image and video hosting by TinyPicQ: What inspired you to open your first store in New York City? A: We have been online for two years in New York City, and we have had a lot of success with customers loving the brand and a lot of celebrities wearing it. We felt it was the right time to have a flagship store and we picked SoHo, as it’s such a fashion hub. It was just the right time and perfect location for our first U.S. store.

Q: What do you love most about the store? A: I love the fact that it has very high ceilings and it’s very spacious. We have recreated a very French-chic look, using really nice wooden furniture and gold accents. We teamed that unique French aesthetic with a fashionable look.

Q: Can you tell us about a couple of your favorite pieces from the Spring ’15 collection? A: We’ve got some amazing prints in aqua tones for spring that are very on trend. We also have some amazing maxi dresses, again in prints that are really very signature to the brand. We have also revived the whole wrap dress, which we think is coming back very strongly in fashion with the birthday of Diane von Furstenberg.
