When it comes to crib bedding, necessity was undoubtedly the mother of invention for Selma Avdicevic and her mother Vahida Subasic. Unable to find sophisticated, luxurious crib-size basic bedding that was also eco-friendly, the Montclair, N.J.-based duo launched Woolly Boo in 2009. Based on natural, chemical-free materials such as organic wool and cotton, the line encompasses mattress and bumper pads, toddler pillows and comforters. New from Woolly Boo are Sleep Sacks (wholesale $75), featuring organic wool filler that’s layered and covered with undyed cotton “inlet” fabric. All seams are protected to prevent irritation to baby’s skin. Sized from small to large and available in select damask patterns, the palette ranges from soft pastels (blue, pink, yellow and peach) to rich shades of burgundy and forest green.
