The Dallas Market Center (DMC) is setting off on a national search, coined The Next Big Give, for specialty retailers that are giving back to their communities through volunteering, raising funds or donating goods. “Retailers across the country are doing so much for their communities and we want to hear their stories," said Cindy Morris, COO of the DMC. “We look forward to honoring those that are making a big difference as they offer inspiration to other retailers."
Ten finalists will be announced on Jan. 10, 2011, and two winners will be revealed on Feb. 14, 2011. The winners will receive complimentary round-trip airfare from anywhere in the continental U.S. to the March 2011 Dallas Market plus a three-night hotel stay. The Next Big Give winners will be recognized during the 2nd annual Inspired Event, a cocktail party and silent auction benefiting a charitable cause.
Specialty retailers operating stores in the continental U.S. may nominate themselves or be nominated by a manufacturer, a sales representative, buyer or customer.
The application is available online at www.dallasmarketcenter.com/give. All entries must be received by Dec. 6, 2010. The finalists and winners will be selected by a panel of industry experts and Dallas Market Center representatives.
