Detwiler Fenton Group of Boston recently completed the acquisition of The Rugged Bear Inc.’s children’s apparel business, forming the new entity The Rugged Bear Company. The Rugged Bear, a designer and retailer of high-quality, affordable children’s clothing and outerwear, sells its products via 26 retail locations located in six states in the Northeast as well as its website.
“Over the last 30 years, The Rugged Bear has become one of the most well known and highly respected retail brands in the New England area,” said Garrett Larson, the new president and CEO of the brand’s business. “This acquisition represents a unique opportunity for us to improve upon The Rugged Bear concept and expand our presence both within New England and, eventually, into other regions across the United States.”
Alan McDonough, founder of The Rugged Bear, noted the sale will allow the brand to capitalize on the strengths of the new management group and continue to provide the competitively priced, quality products it has become known for. Visit www.ruggedbear.com.
