Dallas Market Center Closes Doors Through Early April

Yesterday, Dallas County issued a “shelter-in-place” order for residents of Dallas County that also includes an order for non-essential businesses to cease operations through April 3. As a result, Cindy Morris, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center, has announced the market will be closing its doors until the order is no longer in effect.

“Like many of you, we are facing unique business challenges associated with the COVID-19 Coronavirus, and I am thankful for your flexibility and cooperation,” Morris says in a recent statement. “We are focused on the health and safety of our employees, exhibitors and customers during the pandemic; but there are some important temporary changes we are making today that you need to hear.”

In the meantime, many exhibitors alerted the market regarding available stock ready-to-ship. Dallas Market Center has posted that information on the front page of its website. “Even while temporarily closed we believe in continuing our mission of connecting buyers with available products,” Morris says, adding that she looks forward to picking back up daily business, design events and upcoming markets as soon as possible. “This pandemic will have a beginning, a middle, and an end. We will support one another in the middle, so that at the end of it, we emerge wiser and better equipped.”
