Online spending on Cyber Monday was up 16.4 percent year-over-year to $1.47 billion, reports comScore. It was the top online spending day since the research firm started to track online sales in 2001. The most popular purchases were electronics and accessories, followed by video games, jewelry and watches. According to Shop.org, Cyber Monday shoppers spent an average of $194.46 online. The Tuesday after Cyber Monday also proved to be a popular day for online shopping. Tuesday sales rose to 30.3 percent.
