Aeropostale, a New York-based specialty retail chain targeting young men and women,
has christened its new children’s store concept “P.S. from Aeropostale” and announced plans to launch it in the New York vicinity this summer.
Geared toward ages 7 to 12, the stores will offer casual and trend-driven apparel and accessories with a focus on value. CEO Julian Geiger noted that pre-teens often follow their older siblings into the company’s mall-based stores, and this concept will provide a similar look under a specialized brand name catering just to them.
The shopping environment will be designed to appeal to both tweens and parents. The first store is slated to open in June; a Web site, PS4U.com, will debut soon after.
Aeropostale currently operates 874 stores in 48 states and Puerto Rico, as well as 29 in Canada. Visit www.aeropostale.com.
