Show organizers recently released attendance figures for the 2009 ABC Kids Expo, held in September, which showed total show attendance of 13,593 compared with 13,721 from the prior year. Buyer attendance increased to 5,984 compared to 5,855 in 2008.

“We are thrilled that there was such a tremendous turnout for the show, especially in light of the economic conditions that affect all of us,” said Ken Goore, chairman of the ABC Kids Expo. According to Goore, “Attendance figures which very closely equaled last year’s record numbers are evidence that most participants of the show are responding positively to new products and technology in the juvenile products industry.”

“It was gratifying to see that retailers from 61 different countries participated in the show this year—an all-time record,” added Larry Schur, ABC Kids Expo president. “Buyers were able to take advantage of an extraordinary number of show specials that were furnished to them prior to the show, as well as being able to map out their route to a successful show experience using expanded interactive floor plan technology.”

The organizers noted that the size of the show’s Modern Child and Naturally Kids pavilions doubled, and along with more than 300 first-time exhibitors joining the ranks, a record number of new products were introduced during the show.

Exhibitor registration for the 2010 show has begun, and ABC Kids Expo reported that two-thirds of the available booth space has already been reserved. For more information, visit www.theabcshow.com.
