Show Report: Oct. 2016 ABC Kids Expo

From ABC to 123, we’ve got all the facts and figures.

The results are in! The ABC Kids Expo juvenile products show pulled in more than 12,000 attendees, 900 exhibitors and nearly 3,000 booths, occupying approximately 1 million square feet of exhibit space at the Las Vegas Convention Center last week.

“It is also very encouraging to note that exhibitor registrations that were conducted onsite at the show for the 2017 fall show are 20 percent more than at the same time last year and represents 40 percent of the show floor space already being sold,” noted Larry Schur,  president and chief operating officer of the show’s parent company All Baby & Child Corporation.

This year’s show experienced a number of firsts: an all-time high of attendees from more than 75 international destinations and a record number of submissions for its New Product Showcase, according to the show’s parent company All Baby & Child Corporation. Winners of the New Product Showcase awards included Lulujo Baby Milestone Blanket & Card Set, Baby Dam Bathtub Divider, Halo Innovations SnoozyPad Bedtime Soothing Center, Lorena Canals Washable Rugs, Mommy Steps Maternity Insoles, Bamboobies Yoga Nursing Brahhh and Green Toys Farm Play Set.

“We’re excited to have produced an awards program for this year’s ABC Kids Expo and thrilled by the large number of participants,” said Larry Schur. “Each winner represents an innovation or something new that has been introduced to the juvenile products industry. We are very thankful for the huge number of specialty retailers and trade media that participated in the voting process.”

As always, the show featured a number of pavilions, including the Invention Connection (showcasing products in the prototype phase), Naturally Kids (environmentally-friendly products), Modern Child (contemporary design) and Maternity Square (maternity clothing, lingerie, beauty, diaper bags and nursing products). This year’s show also featured the 2nd Annual Celebrity Nursery Exhibit design by Vanessa Antonelli and included two nursery rooms—one inspired by Blake Lively and the other by Janet Jackson as well as a White House-inspired playroom.

The All Baby & Child Corporation also took the opportunity to donate money and products to a number of charities, including $35,000 to Our Military Kids, as well as $20,000 each to First Candle/SIDS Alliance, Cribs for Kids and The Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation. Finally, exhibitors donated several hundred thousand dollars worth of products to Kids in Distressed Situations (KIDS).
