Holiday Sales Rose 3 Percent, Retail Group Says
The National Retail Federation (NRF) said Tuesday that retail sales for November and December combined totaled $579.8 billion, with sales rising 3.9 percent and 2.1 percent respectively compared with the year-ago periods. According to the federation, non-store sales accounted for 16 percent of holiday sales, a 1 percent increase from 2011.
