A neighborhood hub for free personal styling, onsite alterations and a suite of Nordstrom services? Yes, please.
Meet Nordstrom’s latest retail concept: Nordstrom Local. The innovative concept will serve as a neighborhood hub where customers can shop and access the retailer’s services in a central location.
The new service-focused concept store will feature a 3,000-square-foot layout, compared to the average 140,000-square-foot Nordstrom store, and will have no dedicated inventory. Instead, customers will have access to personal stylists as well as a suite of services such as buy online, pick up in-store; on-site alterations and tailoring; same-day delivery and curbside pickup; manicure services; on-site refreshments; and more. Consumers will also be able to make returns at Nordstrom Local from Nordstrom stores, Nordstrom.com and Trunk Club.
“As the retail landscape continues to transform at an unprecedented pace, the one thing we know that remains constant is that customers continue to value great service, speed and convenience,” says Shea Jensen, senior vice president of customer experience at Nordstrom. “We know there are more and more demands on a customer’s time and we wanted to offer our best services in a convenient location to meet their shopping needs. Finding new ways to engage with customers on their terms is more important to us now than ever.”
The first Nordstrom Local will launch in West Hollywood, Calif., at 8401 Melrose Place on Oct. 3.
