Ruum
New Yorkers awoke to find a chill in the air on Sunday, so it was fitting that the second day of PetiteParade started off with the holiday collection from Ruum. Models bundled up for a winter wonderland, skipping down the runway in oversized scarves, silver skinnies and faux fur. Ice princesses wore white tights and shiny shoes with their winter white tulle and champagne brocade dresses, while special guests Tristin and Tyler topped off their smart rig-outs with a velvet blazer and chunky Fair Isle knit respectively.
Clarks
The fun continued at Clarks, as models (literally) danced down the runway. A couple clad in stylish sneakers (gray for him; pink for her) treated attendees to a little salsa session; twin sisters strutted in sync in strappy sandals; and one model made sure everyone could see her hot pink desert boots by back flipping her way backstage. It must have been those Spring ’15 shoes putting a pep in their step. Also on show were comfy footbed sandals and low wedges for girls, and sporty sandals and dressy kicks for boys.
Dillonger
Casual duds like sweatpants and hoodies get a sophisticated upgrade for Spring ’15 at boys’ brand Dillonger. Zippers add an edge to slouchy joggers, while black and white chevron, gray camo and leather dress up tees and sweatshirts. Our favorite? The stegosaurus sleeveless hoodie.
Aria
Warning: Don’t check out Aria’s spring collection on an empty stomach. A veritable snack cart rolled down the runway to the tune of “I Want Candy,” with something to tempt even the pickiest of eaters. Forget moderation: Dresses, skirts and billowy tops were covered in cookies, donuts, tacos and sushi. Elsewhere in the quirky collection, retro prints were accented with eyelet trims, oversized buttons and heaps of tulle.
Charm
The picnic vibe continued at Charm, where oversized gingham infused with pink and gray paired prettily with white shorts and bare feet. Peach was ripe for the picking, too, cropping up on boys’ sweaters and button-downs and girls’ paper-bag skirts, and a digitized floral print bloomed on tops and bottoms alike.
Bonnie Young
Bonnie Young closed the seventh edition of kids’ fashion week with a diverse collection of tailored silhouettes and mod minis. Bubblegum pink leather popped on moto jackets, mini skirts and pleated tennis dresses, while black and white stripes made their mark on structured rompers and trapeze tees. And it wouldn’t be spring with some kind of floral: In this case, a bold ‘60s-style daisy print, stamped on everything from a boy’s button-down and blazer to a girl’s A-line skirt.
