The gaming system Nintendo of America is partnering with Jakks Pacific to create a line of costumes and toys featuring favorite characters from popular games, including Donkey Kong, Zelda and Mario. From toys, novelties, key chains, plush and games to accessories, Jakks Pacific plans on expanding the offering for Nintendo characters. “We are eager to offer a robust and comprehensive lineup of products to satisfy our fan base and generations of Nintendo enthusiasts,” says Steve Singer, vice president of licensing at Nintendo of America. “This partnership with Jakks Pacific affords us tremendous opportunity to grow the presence of our iconic brands at retail.” The toy line will launch in Spring 2014, with the costume accessories in the Halloween line, which are part of the costume division Disguise, will be available this fall. “Nintendo is a classic brand, rich in content that appeals to today’s kids, parents and collectors alike, and we are excited to partner together to bring their video game heritage to life in the toy aisle,” says Jack McGrath, COO at Jakks Pacific.
