The Publisher Little Brown Books for Young Readers is teaming up with Hasbro to take up the licensing rights for My Little Pony as well as extend its partnership with Transformers for 2013. Little Brown Books, which has both the electronic and print rights to these two properties, will release the “Official Guide” to the “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” television series debuting in Spring 2013, and a pop-up book featuring the Transformers, developed by paper engineer Matthew Reinhart, which will hit shelves in Fall 2013. Little Brown Books for Young Readers’ Andrew Smith says the company is excited to expand its relationship with Hasbro. “We look forward to expanding on the great stories featured in both animated series, as well as to creating new reading experiences for the millions of lifelong devotees around the world and new readers, with collectible and innovative formats for fans of every age,” he says. Michael Kelly of Hasbro adds that his company is also happy to be growing its relationship with the publisher. “The enthusiasm and creative energy the whole team brings to each book promises exciting opportunities for fans to interact with our characters and brands,” he shares.
