MGL’s Marsh Mellow is about to go global with Penguin Children’s as its digital, film, television, toy and gaming licensing partner. Apparel, household products, accessories, back to school items, apps and books are in development for the pre-school art brand. Pre-school apps will be the first to debut in 2013 under Ladybird, immediately followed by a book series. Eric Huang, new business and IP acquisitions director at Penguin Children’s, calls Marsh Mellow “fresh and appealing.” “We immediately saw the potential of the brand,” Mellow says. “The fun and quirky animal characters lend themselves perfectly for a suite of pre-school apps, as well as books and merchandise,” he says. “I’m excited to be partnering with MGL to turn this engaging and colorful design-led brand into a story brand through digital and physical publishing.”
