As the whole country is experiencing Olympic fever, Fisher-Price and Nickelodeon Consumer Products have teamed up to give aspiring gymnasts a practicing partner – the Fantastic Gymnastics Dora doll. The doll can “perform” two gymnastics routines and has seven various moves, including a split and a handstand. It also speaks 40 phrases in both English and Spanish. Kids can cheer Dora on and can download an app that brings Dora’s routines to life. Russian gymnast, and five-time Olympic medalist, Nastia Liukin traveled to the World Olympics Gymnastics Academy in Texas to show the gymnasts all Dora the gymnast can do and to provide some inspiration for the athletes. “I’ve always been a true believer in setting goals and dreaming big,” Liukin says. “Building self-confidence at an early age is so important and a doll like Fantastic Gymnastics Dora is designed to inspire kids and show them that there are endless possibilities to what they can achieve – I love that.” The doll will be available in August and costs $49.99.
