For the ninth annual Retail Horizons: Benchmarks for 2010, Forecasts for 2011 report, NRF and KPMG found that 41 percent of retailers surveyed intend to focus on store expansions in 2011. This figure is up from 25 percent in 2010. Store growth reflects retailers’ desire to move past the recession and focus on growing their brand and companies. Companies will continue to keep costs low, but will augment user experience with their brand both on and off-line.
