The Stride Rite Children’s Group recently released a new trademarked program called STEP (Scientifically Tested, Everyday Proven), meant to help parents select shoes that will properly support a child’s growth and development from ages 1 to 5.
The in-store program consists of three steps and is intended to make it easier for parents to select quality, healthy footwear for every key developmental stage of their child’s life. Step one is for pre-walkers: Shoes available for these children are designed to flex and bend to promote healthy foot development, according to the company. Step two focuses on cruisers and early walkers with shoes designed to protect feet without restricting movement. Step three, for children that up and running around, denotes shoes that optimize the biomechanics of the foot to allow children to develop healthy and natural walking patterns.
Stride Rite is introducing the STEP education program in its company stores through vibrant signage and a color-coded tiered wall display. Retail prices range from $22 to $50 across all three STEPs. Visit www.striderite.com.
