Kids In Distressed Situations (K.I.D.S) will celebrate its 25th anniversary this year with a gala fundraiser honoring three industry leaders who have donated their time and resources to support the charity’s cause.
John Goodman, executive vice president of Sears Holding Corp., will receive K.I.D.S.’s Retail Award. Oscar Feldenkreis, president and CEO of Perry Ellis Corp., will be presented with the K.I.D.S. Achievement Award. And Wayne Elsey, founder and CEO of the footwear charity Soles4Souls, will be honored with the K.I.D.S. Humanitarian Award. “[Each of these men] embodies the passion and commitment of helping children and families achieve a better, more productive life, which is at the heart of the mission of K.I.D.S.,” said Peter Rosenthal, chairman of K.I.D.S. and president of Rosenthal & Rosenthal.
Cory Booker, mayor of Newark, whose continuing mission is to set a national standard for urban transformation and family empowerment, will give the event’s keynote speech.
