Jakks Pacific founder Jack Friedman, the man behind some of the most successful toys in history, died on May 3.
Friedman started the California-based company in 1995 and served as chairman and CEO until March 31. During his tenure, Friedman launched the first movie toys for E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, Michael Jackson dolls, wrestling action figures, Pac-Man TV games, and more.
A memorial service was held Thursday, May 13. Donations can be made to the Toy Industry Foundation or research under the direction of Dr. Gary Schiller at UCLA’s Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center at www.cancer.ucla.edu/giving.
