Ottawa, Ontario-based baby sling manufacturer Blue Celery is launching a Baby Sling Bank to benefit mothers in need. Until March 31, the company will donate 10 slings and $4 for every sling sold on its Web site to the Birth & Parent Companion Program of Mothercraft Ottawa. The initiative aims to reach young, single mothers as well as mothers who are suffering from abuse, addiction or mental illness.
“Promoting strong parent-infant attachment lays the groundwork for healthy and secure babies, confident parents, and emotionally stable families and communities,” noted Mothercraft Ottawa manager Jessica Dwyer.
The company began the Baby Sling Bank initiative on Dec. 1. Visit www.bluecelery.com.
