VF Corporation of Greensboro, N.C., has completed its acquisition of Mo Industries, the Los Angeles-based parent company of brands Splendid and Ella Moss.
VF Corp. purchased one-third of Mo Industries’ stock in June of 2008 and the remaining two-thirds earlier this month. According to the company, it paid $161 million “plus the repayment of $47 in existing net debt” for the remaining two-thirds of the capital stock.
No changes are planned for the Splendid and Ella Moss kids’ lines, according to Cindy Knoebel, vice president financial and corporate communications for VF Corp. The company plans to open its first Splendid store in the third quarter of this year on Robertson Boulevard in Los Angeles, Knoebel added. The store will showcase the Splendid family of products, which includes both adults’ and children’s wear.
