Kids Headquarters of New York has purchased the Avirex label for young men from Marc Ecko Enterprises, which reportedly constitutes a $50 million wholesale business. Avirex president Jeff Strumeier will continue to run the brand.

Kids Headquarters has held the children’s wear license for Ecko Unlimited for many years and has created kids’ apparel for Avirex in the past, but this marks the company’s entrée into branded men’s wear. Kids Headquarters’ executive vice president Cory Silverstein said the acquisition opens up new possibilities for the company in the men’s business directly as well as in licensing the brand out to other relevant categories.
