Two markets recently unveiled plans to launch children’s product shows that will coincide with existing home, gift and textile markets.

In February, 7 W. New York will launch the NYC Baby & Kids Fair, an initiative to bring together showrooms of baby and children’s apparel, accessories, gifts, textiles and furnishings to reach more buyers. The first edition will be held Feb. 1–3, 2010, during the 7 W. Gift and Home Textiles Market. Booth space will start at 10- by 10-foot dimensions in an effort to appeal to upstart, boutique-oriented and niche vendors. Special launch pricing will also be offered. For details, contact Diana Weissich, director of trade show sales, at (646) 778-3231 or e-mail dweissich@mmart.com.

In Las Vegas, the World Market Center is introducing the Vegas Kids Show for youth-oriented home products. Set to coincide with the Gift + Home market scheduled for June 13–16, 2010, the show will take place in Building B of the World Market Center and two floors in Building C.

Both show organizers noted that the children’s segment is one of the fastest-growing areas in the worlds of gifts and home furnishings.
