Diaper bag company Petunia Pickle Bottom recently participated in “A is for Apple,” a baby shower hosted by Operation Shower and the March of Dimes. Held Sept. 20 at the Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Va., the event intended to help out moms and moms-to-be who would likely not have a baby shower of their own. Twenty-five women participated.

Operation Shower enables military families who are expecting a child while the spouse is deployed or overseas to have baby showers. The March of Dimes strives to improve the health of infants by focusing on birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.

Petunia Pickle Bottom donated 25 shoulder bags and touring totes to the cause. Other items included clothing, toys, books and baby products. To date, Operation Shower has provided showers to more than 250 military families. Visit www.operationshower.org, www.marchofdimes.com, or www.petuniapicklebottom.com.
