LamanBlu founder and designer Holli Gibson was awarded the Fashion Group International’s 2009 Rising Star Award by the nonprofit’s Denver affiliate for her eco-friendly children’s line. Gibson’s line bested ten other new designers as the brand community judges think will become nationally recognized in the next five years. The ceremony was part of FGI’s biannual Fashion by Design Runway gala that raises funds for the organization’s education programs.
No prize money was awarded, but the honor caps off a busy and successful year for Gibson, who sold through her inventory and added sales reps earlier than anticipated. The one-year-old Denver, Colo.-based company offers mix-and-match heirloom pieces with an European sensibility for boys and girls. With separates ranging between $50 to $80 retail, Gibson poises her designs for boutiques catering to moms like herself seeking something special for their children. Visit www.lamanblu.com.
