Nintendo Store Launches Danielle Nicole Accessories

The collection pays homage to vintage video games with themed wristlets, keychains, crossbodies and more!

As kids increasingly embrace retro pop culture as their own, they can now kick it old school with new Nintendo accessories from Danielle Nicole. Already known for its cross-generational licenses like Disney, Harry Potter, Looney Tunes and more, Danielle Nicole has teamed with Nintendo for a collection moms and kids can equally appreciate.

“There’s been such a movement in today’s trends merging both nostalgia and modernity that we knew the time was right to create this collaboration with Nintendo Entertainment Systems, an icon of the ’90s,” says Danielle DiFerdinando, designer and founder.

DiFerdonando cites her trip to Tokyo’s new Nintendo store last week as confirmation that the collection was on the right path. “I got to see first hand how Nintendo uses tech to streamline innovations and create such a special experience.”

Bringing that energy to New York, Nintendo is having a launch party at its Rockefeller Plaza store today, open to the public from 6pm to 8pm. Guests will be able to try on and purchase the newest collection of cube wristlets, backpacks, keychains and crossbodies that pay homage to everything from vintage entertainment center controller to pixelated video characters and Mario Bros himself. Key chains start at $18, with large backpacks topping out at $68.

“We really wanted to bring that modern classic back to the forefront of fashion, not only for younger generations but for those who carry such happy memories of Nintendo with them to this very day,” DiFerdinando adds.

The collection is launching on danielle-nicole.com and Nintendo’s website and stores, but retailers can contact the designer for wholesale opportunities.
