The 2012 ABC Expo, held from Oct. 14-17 in Louisville, K.Y., drew close to 800 manufacturers in just under 3,000 booths, a dip from last year's 3,500 booths. Buyer attendance also dropped to 4,343 from last year's report of 5,034. The show saw an uptick of interest from international buyers. Visitors from 66 countries including China, the United Kingdom, Canada and India, were in attendance. The spring 2013 ABC Expo will return to Las Vegas May 7-9.
International juvenile product fair, Kind + Jugend, reports more than 21,000 attendees from 103 countries during the Sept. 9 to 13 edition. The Cologne, Germany-based show featured 938 exhibitors from 46 countries and saw an uptick in overall international traffic. North American visitors were up 15.7 percent from last year. Exhibitors included 4Moms, Sara Kety and Baby Jogger.
Event producer nGage Co. will host the KidzBiz Insights event at Las Vegas' THEhotel at Mandalay Bay from July 15-17. The conference covers products in maternity, babies, toddler and older categories. Qualified retailers, who will receive a hosted package that includes airfare, ground transportation, accommodations, meals and access to the conference, will be required to attend appointments, information sessions and continuing educational programs featuring speakers who will discuss market trends and what's ahead in the future.
The New York International Gift Fair has named Christian Falkenberg show director. He will oversee all aspects of the fair, including strategic development, brand positioning, sales, audience marketing, public relations and operations.
Falkenberg has been the NYIGF shoe manager since 2008 and has held sales and management positions with the International Hotel, Motel & Restaurant Show, Las Vegas International Hotel & Restaurant Show, AH&MA Lodging Expo and the Air & Waste Management Associate and Conference Expo.
