In conjunction with the Dallas KidsWorld Market, the Dallas Market Center will add a juried trade event for baby gifts and gadgets in March. The new section, called Play. Baby.Juvenile, or PBJ, is the latest addition to the 200,000 square-foot kids market and will feature new and established manufacturers. The center's visual merchandising team is designing the space to be a modern, fun and inspiring.

On May 31st at The Plaza Hotel in New York, Kids in Distressed Situations will celebrate the sixth anniversary of its Women in Industry Luncheon. This year's recipients of the K.I.D.S. Women of Achievement award are Kathy Ireland, CEO and chief designer at Kathy Ireland Worldwide; President and General Manager of PBS kids Sprout Sandy Wax; and Sharon John, president of Stride Rite Children's Group. The event will include a presentation by Ireland on the steps she took to grow her business into a Fortune 500 company.

On Thursday, May 1st Kids in Distressed Situations (K.I.D.S.) will take time to celebrate women who have made a positive impact in their fields. Honoree Kathy Ireland, CEO and Chief Designer of Kathy Ireland Worldwide, will also serve as the keynote speaker for the lunch. Other honorees include President of Stride Rite Children's Group Sharon John and President and General Manager of PBS KIDS Sprout Sandy Wax. The lunch will be held at The Plaza Hotel in New York City from 11:15 am to 2 pm and will include a reception and silent auction. Tickets are sold on a first come, first serve basis.

On Saturday, March 10 from 5:30-7:30, Earnshaw's magazine will host a cocktail party at children's apparel trade show Playtime New York. Buyers, please take a moment and toast with us to the beautiful children's wares displayed at the show from all over the world. Playtime New York is located on 82 Mercer Street in Soho between Spring and Broome and takes place from March 10-12, 2012. Open to the trade only; Invitation required.
