JustFab Acquires Subscription-Based Kids Clothing Service
Retail and styling platform JustFab has purchased children's fashion brand and personalized e-commerce service, FabKids. Launched by Andy Moss (ShopStyle founder and serial entrepreneur) and actress Christina Applegate in August 2012, FabKids sends out one complete girl's outfit every month, designed in-house and personalized to the child based on a custom profile filled out at signup. Sales are currently up more than 250 percent from last year and FabKids is scheduled to launch a boys' clothing line in Q3.
Net-a-Porter Considers Childrenswear
According to British newspaper The Independent, kids are in the cards for online retailer Net-a-Porter. As big name brands like Versace, Gucci and Oscar de la Renta cash in on the childrenswear boom, the luxury e-tailer is reportedly following suit with plans to add kids' clothing to its ecommerce empire. The proposed launch is part of a growth strategy by the site's owner, luxury conglomerate Richemont.
