Cherie Marcum named EVP of finance at Dallas Market Center
Dallas Market Center, which hosts Dallas KidsWorld Market, announced Thursday that Cherie Marcum has been named executive vice president of finance at Dallas Market Center. She will be responsible for overseeing the company's financial processes, audits and budgeting system. Marcum previously served as vice president of finance for the organization. "Cherie has been instrumental in streamlining accounting functions and the budget process throughout the past six years," says Cindy Morris, COO of Dallas Market Center.
Ascena Retail Appoints Dirk Montgomery as CFO
Ascena Retail Group Inc., owner of tween chain Justice, has named Dirk Montgomery executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective Jan. 16. Montgomery, whose resume includes a stint as executive vice president and chief value chain officer of Bloomin' Brands, succeeds Armand Correia, who will be retiring after 21 years with the organization.
Kevin Strawbridge Named EVP of Marketing and Technology at Dallas Market Center
Last week, Dallas Market Center announced that Kevin Strawbridge has been named executive vice president of marketing and technology. Strawbridge will be responsible for integrating marketing and technology efforts and enhancing the digital marketplace for Dallas Market Center. "He will lead the marketing and technology strategy to further establish Dallas as a marketplace with cutting-edge digital resources," says Cindy Morris, COO, Dallas Market Center.
Target Names New a Senior VP-Creative
Target has hired Todd Waterbury, a longtime creative director at Wieden & Kennedy as its Senior VP-Creative. Waterbury will work with the retailer's agency and internal creative teams and lead the brand's creative direction. Previously, the exec worked for Uniqlo as the Japanese brand's creative director for North America. Waterbury is the first hire Target's chief marketer Jeff Jones has made since starting at the company last April.
The Children's Place Picks New CFO
Children's clothing retailer The Children's Place on Monday named Michael Scarpa its new chief financial officer, effective Dec. 3. Scarpa, 56, was previously the CFO and chief operating officer of women's clothing chain Talbots and also worked at Liz Claiborne for 25 years.
Claire’s Appoints New CEO
Tween accessories chain Claire's is set for international expansion after appointing James D. Fielding, former president of Disney Stores Worldwide, as chief executive officer. Fielding handled all global operations for Disney Stores and served as architect of the company's brand and merchandising strategy, new store expansion and expansion of Disney's e-commerce business, among other enterprises.
Children’s Place Names New Financial Chief
Children's Place Retail Stores Inc. announced on Wednesday that it had named Steven Baginski as its new chief financial officer. Baginski has more than 25 years of financial and management experience that includes positions at Hercules Tire & Rubber Co. and Limited Brands Inc. and he most recently served as financial chief at Kellwood Co., a private apparel manufacturer.
