Walmart has a new American leader: Bill Simon has been named the new president and CEO of the retailer’s U.S. stores, reporting directly to Mike Duke, president and CEO of Walmart. Simon takes over from Walmart’s vice chairman Eduardo Castro-Wright, who has been named president and CEO of the company’s global online business and sourcing.

In addition, Walmart’s chief merchandising officer, John Fleming, will depart on August 1 after a decade with the company. His role will temporarily be filled by executive vice presidents John Westling, who will handle general merchandise, and Jack Sinclair, who will oversee the food and health wellness categories.
