The International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association (LIMA) announced the winners of its Excellence Awards, recognizing standouts from the calendar year 2009, at last week’s Licensing Expo in Las Vegas. Vampire favorite “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” was named License of the Year, while Paul Frank Art was a first-time winner (boosted by Kids Headquarters’ Paul Frank Apparel, named Best Art Licensee).

“This year’s winners include classic brands such as Barbie and Scrabble as well as new properties and products that are popular with a wide variety of audiences,” said Charles Riotto, president of LIMA. “The association congratulates all of our winners, who exemplify the creativity of our industry and the strength of licensing as a brand builder.”

LIMA presented 16 awards recognizing the most successful licensed properties and products in seven categories. Nominations were solicited from across the licensing industry and winners chosen by a vote of the LIMA membership. For a full list of winners, click here.
