The National Retail Federation of Washington D.C. has announced that Matt Shay, previously the president and CEO of the International Franchise Association, has been selected as its next president and CEO following the retirement of current CEO Tracy Mullin, who has served in that role for 17 years. Shay will be formally elected at the NRF board meeting on June 22.

Current NRF chairman and Terry Lundgren, the president and CEO of Macy’s Inc., said Shay brings a level of knowledge and experience that will benefit the NRF and its members. “He has the leadership skills, energy and enthusiasm necessary to guide this organization confidently into the future, and I look forward to working with him on the issues and projects that lie ahead,” he added.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with NRF’s outstanding Board of Directors and staff in leading such a dynamic and influential association,” Shay noted. “Retail is the lifeblood of our economy and with the challenges we face on Capitol Hill, the stakes have never been higher.” Visit www.nrf.com.
